As the temperatures in Melbourne soar during the summer, having an efficient cooling system is essential for comfort. However, upgrading or installing a new cooling system can be a significant financial investment. Thankfully, the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program offers rebates for energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, helping you save money on your new system. BM Heating & Cooling is here to guide you through the VEU cooling rebate process and help you understand the amount you could save.

What is the VEU Cooling Rebate?

The VEU program, previously known as the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET), is an initiative by the Victorian government to reduce energy consumption across the state. The program provides rebates and incentives for homeowners and businesses to install energy-efficient appliances, including cooling systems like reverse cycle air conditioning and energy-efficient split systems.

Through this program, you can receive financial support to reduce the upfront cost of purchasing and installing energy-efficient cooling systems. The aim is to make homes more comfortable while helping to reduce energy consumption, which can lead to lower energy bills in the long term.

How Much Can You Save with the VEU Cooling Rebate?

The amount of the veu cooling rebate amount depending on the type of system you choose and the specific eligibility criteria. As of 2024, the rebates can range from $200 to $1,000 or more, depending on factors like:

• Type of Cooling System: Systems such as reverse cycle air conditioners or energy-efficient split systems are eligible for the rebate. High-efficiency units tend to qualify for higher rebates.
• Energy Efficiency: The more energy-efficient your new cooling system, the larger the rebate. Energy-efficient systems help reduce electricity consumption, which lowers your environmental footprint while keeping your home comfortable.
• Eligibility: The VEU program has different rebate amounts for eligible households, and the final rebate amount is determined based on factors like household income or the specific location of your home.

BM Heating & Cooling can assist you in selecting the best energy-efficient cooling system that maximizes your rebate. By working with a licensed professional, you can ensure your system meets the eligibility requirements for the VEU program.
